2013 BMW M3

The Ultimate Driving Machine has arrived – the new BMW M3!

The car that sets the benchmark for performance and handling has gone through a new iteration and raises the bar even further.

The sonorous 4.0-litre V8 will be replaced with a more efficient 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine. It will be the first turbo to propel the M3.

Although reduced in capacity, the new engine will still deliver serious numbers, 450bhp or 335kW and 0 – 100km/h in 4.5 seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.

The engine is mated to either a 6-speed manual or twin-clutch gearbox. The new M3 will be built with more composite materials in a quest to reduce weight. It will also be better to drive than the previous M3, thanks to the latest M Sport active differential.

As with the current car, the coupé gets unique panels to give its sleek body a longer and sportier profile. The aggressive front treatment and muscular body kit also set the M3 apart from its lesser siblings. Expect a drop-top convertible to be in the mix as well.

Sadly, the M3 saloon has been deleted from the M product line-up due to low volume.

The new M3 is expected to make its appearance in 2012.
